Within the framework of ICT projects announced by the Ministry of Interior of the Czech Republic we prepare the implementation of the electronic identity (eID) card project. Structured eID projects are comprehensive, regularly combining both legal and technical solutions. This currently involves particularly the project of development of a new system and production of electronic personal identity cards and its follow-up to the already existing system of passports containing biometric elements.
